My training career and experience came from my work as a public speaker/trainer for CareerTrack; an international training corporation. While with them I co-created a best selling program called, "Self-empowerment - Bringing Spiritual Values into the Workplace".
I also presented a program called "Self Discipline and Emotional Control", based on Rational Emotive Therapy, and a workshop based on Scott peck's book, 'The Road Less Traveled".
In 1995 I became ill with Aids and left Careertrack. I have spent the last 16 years going from very sick to so so, and back and forth many times. Somehow I made it through so much! Thank you eternally to my spiritual teachers and friends!
But aside from the struggles I was graced with such a beautiful and poignant experience. Having Aids taught me so much and impacted my life so dramatically on so many levels I can't imagine having had a life without it. It has been almost all of my adult life. What an adventure!!!
Although I claim no affiliation with any one spiritual tradition, I have been widely influenced by many. Raised as a Catholic and ultimately free to simply be a seeker of the truth, I have explored Christianity, Buddhism, Hinduism, Sufism as well as most New age and esoteric philosophies.
Highly attracted to Buddhist Philosophy and Psychology, I attended Naropa University in Boulder, Co., and completed an Authentic Leadership Course as well as an Advanced Coaching Course, and received coaching certification.
With deep gratitude and respect, I acknowledge Shinzen Young as one of my greatest teachers and influences. Shinzen was ordained as a monk in the Zen Buddhist tradition, and I have extensively practiced his form of Shamatha/Vipassana meditation and mindfulness training for 17 years.
My personal journey has been a dabbling and immersion into many different philosophies and teachings. The most influential being the teachings of Jesus, Shinzen Young, Pema Chodron, Eckhart Tolle, Trungpa Rinpoche, Course in Miracles, Thomas Campbell, and other teachers in the Insight Meditation community.
I have also journeyed to Egypt, India, Nepal, Peru, and over 20 other countries seeking cultural experience, as well as healing and insight from many different Sacred Sites.
My other previous professional careers included Sales for Tiffany & Co., purchasing agent for various companies, massage practictioner, and travel guide.
